There have been many attempts at creating an aptamer database, however, most of them failed due to a lack of standardization in the field. This created heavy stratification of the information, which is dispersed throughout different databases.
Many articles, and subsequently databases, describe aptamer targets only superficially, which impacts reproducibility of the experiments.
